Coltescu (in this case, "negru", which however would seem not to be offensive in Romanian)
It is incredible what happened at minute 16 of Psg-Basaksehir, a match valid for the sixth and final day of the Champions League group stage. Pierre Webo, Okan Buruk's deputy expelled by referee Hategan, complained of a racist phrase that would have been addressed to him by the fourth man Coltescu (in this case, "negru", which however would seem not to be offensive in Romanian), giving rise to a blatant protest by the Turkish team, who left the pitch to the applause of those present in the stands, followed closely by the PSG players, despite the descent on the field of the dg Leonardo. The challenge was interrupted and even Demba Ba, from the bench, was seen waving a red card in the excited moments. It was the attacker himself who raised the alarm, starting to gesticulate visibly angry to get attention.
The Basaksehir: "There is no respect"
All Basaksehir players, on the sidelines, would have asked the fourth official: "Why do you call white players boys while black players call them blacks? We need respect, there is no respect". According to some reconstructions, the complete dialogue between the fourth man Coltescu and the referee Hategan would have been: "Go and check who is that black over there. It is not possible to act like this." The club then immediately resorted to social media, publishing a post on Twitter with the symbolic photo of the fight against racism "No to racism - respect", complete with the Uefa logo. Instead Raimond Domenech, president of the French ace-coaches, jokes: "To resume the game the referee has to do only one thing: send his fourth official off".
"Remove the fourth man"
The conditio sine qua non imposed by Basaksehir to return to the field would have been the removal of Coltescu, who could be replaced by the Italian Marco Di Bello, in charge of the Var, who would in turn leave his position at the Avar Maurizio Mariani. It was the president of the Turkish club, Goksel Gumusdag, who demanded the "expulsion" of the fourth man: "The fourth man said 'negro' in front of everyone! If the fourth man is expelled from the field, we will resume the game. fourth man remains on the ground, Basaksehir will not return to the field ", TRT Spor told Turkish TV. The coach Okan Buruk, former Inter midfielder, was also tough: "Webo was sent off because of the color of his skin".
