Covid emergency, the mayor of Ottone closes the accesses to the town

Ottone, located in Val Trebbia, borders with the province of Alessandria, in Piedmont and from Lombardy, which is not contiguous to the municipal area but still very close, many people arrive every year who have second homes.

A single access road to the town remained 'open', monitored by video cameras.

This is what the local newspaper 'La Libertà' tells us.

Here are the words of the mayor of Ottone Federico Beccia

"Ours - Mayor Federico Beccia tells the Piacenza newspaper - is a country that has a very high percentage of elderly people and just like in spring we cannot afford to make mistakes or underestimate the risks".

The territory of Ottone, however, last October 3 suffered another blow with the fall of a bridge that caused inconvenience to traffic.

“Every day - says the mayor - here it gets heavier, the alternative road seems to us getting longer even if it has been paved.

At Christmas the town will probably be semi-deserted.  And we are very sorry, because in the summer of the rediscovery of the villages of the Apennines we got up pretty well from a tourist point of view ".
